Shape of Grinding Media:

The easy-made grinding balls which are not easily deformed are commonly adopted. Shape of grinding media decided the processing cost and processing feasibility. The ball shape and cylinder type grinding media are easy to make. When grinding the super-fine powder, the required particle of grinding media is very small, so only the spherical beads can be used. The ball has the smallest specific surface area which enables it posses the highest abrasive resistance.

Size of the Grinding Media:
If the feeding size is bigger, it shall be impacted and crushed by the grinding media, so the grinding ball shall be bigger. Ball diameter of the large ball mill in the ore mining processing plant can reach 250mm.

In the superfine crushing process, in order to intensify the grinding effect, the particle size of the grinding media shall be reduced. The smallest grinding diameter can reach 0.5mm.

Grinding Media Proportion:

Different size of grinding media has different function in the grinding process. The grinding media shall be put into the cylinder of ball mill based on a certain proportion.
