Modification Scheme of Short Head Cone Crusher’s crushing chamber

Three-stage open circuit crushing process is adapted for crushing of pyrite. φ1200 mm standard cone crusher and short head cone crusher for medium crushing and fine crushing, jaw crusher is used as the coarse crusher.  Since the crushing plant is put into use, the final crushed product is always unqualified. It is blocked seriously in the process of fine crushing. Furthermore, the crushing efficiency and load rate of the plant is very low. In order to solve this problem, after analysis the structure of the crusher, we decide to install the rolling mortar wall of the medium type cone crusher onto the fine crushing cone crusher. That means we transform the three-stage crusher into the secondary crusher. They also adjust the discharge opening of the coarse crusher into 60-70mm, the fine crushing cone crusher into 8-12mm.

8-month production practice proves the success of the modification:
1.    The content of the qualified 15mm final particle improved by 30%-40%. The grinding machine’s output capacity improved 18% accordingly. The power consumption of one ton raw ore decreased by 3-4 kilowatt per hour.
2.    The feeding opening of the fine crushing cone crusher solves the block phenomenon of the crushing chamber and also reduces the working intensity of the worker. It can save about 1000 kgs lubrication oil per year.
3.    Disadvantages: for lack of primary crushing and screening, when the ore feeding is not even, the spring will jump greatly. If add screening machine before the fine crushing, this problem will be solved.
