What is a Cone Crusher?

Working Principle and Structure of Cone Crusher
Cone crusher crushes the stone or ore by the working face between movable cone and fixed cone. Movable cone is supported by the spherical bearings and fixed in a hanging vertical axis. The vertical axis is placed in a eccentric sleeve which is placed on the thrust bearing.

In this way, when the movable cone gets close to the fixed cone, material can be crushed. The frame of the cone crusher is made up of two parts which are connected by the bolts. There is a strong spring covered on the bolt avoid the damage of the parts of cone crusher when there are some hard materials or meta fall down into the crushing chamber. If they fall down into the crushing chamber, the fixed cone will be lifted up, and the discharge opening of the cone crusher will be enlarged and they will be discharge out of the cone crusher. Sometimes, the cone crusher makes use of the oil pressure or water pressure device to adjust the size of the discharge opening.

The ore stones fall into the crushing chamber trough the distribution plate which is installed on the up end of the vertical shaft. When the vertical shaft rotates, the plate will vibrates and in this way the ore stones will be evenly distributed onto the surrounding of the cone. The width of the discharging opening can be adjusted by the rod with the hand shank.
